The Berlin Public Library and the NH Community Technical College - Berlin Fortier Library, with funding provided by the New Hampshire Humanities Council will be hosting a Spring Book Discussion series entitled "Contemporary New England Voices." North Country humanist Frumie Selchen will lead the first of four discussions along with Susanne Brown and Robin DeRosa. The first will be on Wednesday, March 7th, 2007 at 7 p.m. when Chris Bohjalian's Midwives will be the topic of discussion.
Suzanne Brown, a professor at Dartmouth College, will lead the discussion on Wednesday, April 11th at 7 p.m. of Anita Shreve's Weight of Water.
Suzanne Brown will return on Wednesday, May 2nd at 7 p.m. to talk about Cider House Rules by John Irving.
The final session of the spring series which will be held on Wednesday, June 6th at 7 p.m. will be led by Robin DeRosa, a professor at Plymouth State University, on Russell Banks' Affliction.
All four sessions of the discussion series will be held at the Fortier Library at NH Community Technical College - Berlin. Copies of the books will be available for loan at both the CCSNH-Berlin Fortier Library and the Berlin Public Library. Refreshments will be served.
