Once again, the Berlin Public Library and the Fortier Library of CCSNH-Berlin, with funding provided by the New Hampshire Humanities Council, will be hosting a Spring Book Discussion Series entitled "Rural and Small Town America." Local scholar, Ingrid Graff will lead the first two of the four discussion sessions along with Suzanne Brown and Jennifer Lee. The first will be on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. and the topic of the evening will be Edith Wharton's book, Summer.
Ingrid Graff will return to lead the second session of the series which will be held on Wednesday, March 24,2004, at 7:00 p.m. and will focus on Sarah Orne Jewett's Country of the Pointed Firs.
Suzanne Brown, a professor at Dartmouth College will lead the third session April 7, 2004 at 7 p.m. on Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg Ohio.
The final session of the spring series which will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. will continue the discussion on "Rural and Small Town America." Jennifer Lee, an independent scholar from Concord will lead the discussion on Richard Russo's Empire Falls.
