Program Development on the Menu at CCSNH-Berlin

With a five-star dinner awaiting them, approximately fifty business and industry representatives from across the North Country gathered at New Hampshire Community College - Berlin to meet with members of the college's Program Development Committee. On the table: four academic areas previously identified by the college as potential areas for program growth. Hospitality and tourism representatives joined representatives from the fields of health care, outdoor recreation, and construction in exploring future program possibilities in each of the four fields.

"We had an incredible turnout, especially for a cold and rainy November night," said President Katharine Eneguess. "Community involvement is crucial to our success and we are grateful to everyone who made this event so successful."

Meeting in separate sessions to discuss the educational needs in their respective fields, the attendees treated NHCTC committee members to a lively discussion of both the possibilities and practicalities of new educational programs. Following the group meetings, guests were treated to a harvest-themed gourmet dinner prepared and served by students in the Culinary Arts program, under the direction of Chef Instructors Kurt Hohmeister and Travis Giles.

The event was deemed a success by college personnel. "I am excited by the feedback we've received," commented committee chair Emily Elliott. "Our guests have given us lots of substantive material to review as our development process moves forward."
