NHCTC Hosts Fall Book Discussion Series

The New Hampshire Community College along with the Berlin Public Library are pleased to announce the return of the Fall Book Discussion to the Fortier Library, set to begin September 22. With funding provided by the New Hampshire Humanities Council, the series is entitled, 'With Earth in Mind,' and will feature four novels with discussions led by independent scholars Jennifer Lee and Rick Argen.

Jennifer Lee, who also led a discussion during the spring series, will kick off the fall session on Wednesday, September 22 at 7 p.m. with the discussion of the John Elder novel, Reading the Mountains of Home. Jennifer will also speak at the following discussion Wednesday, October 6, at 7 p.m. The topic is the Rachel Carson book, Under the Sea Wind.

The last two discussions in the series will be led by Rick Argen. Rick's first dialogue will take place Wednesday, October 20, at 7 p.m. to cover the Linda Hogan novel, Mean Spirit. The final discussion will be about the Michael Pollan book, Second Nature, and will take place Wednesday, November 3, at 7 p.m.

All four of the sessions in the series will take place at the Fortier Library at NHCTC. Refreshments will be served. For more information, please contact the Fortier Library at 752-1113 or the Berlin Public Library at 752-5210.
