NHCTC Fall Book Discussion / Lecture Series

The Berlin Public Library and the NH Community Technical College--Berlin Fortier Library have received a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities Council to once again bring a series of interesting and thought-provoking book discussions to the North Country. This fall's series will feature three book discussions with the theme of "Not for Children Only."

The first of three book discussions will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2002, at the CCSNH-Berlin Fortier Library, 2020 Riverside Drive Berlin, NH. Ingrid Graff will lead the discussion of Classic Fairy Tales by Iona and Peter Opie. Graff is a Randolph resident and a regular presenter who always manages to engage and entertain the group.

The second book discussion will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 and Laurence Davies will lead the discussion of Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. Davies is Professor of English at Dartmouth College.

Ingrid Graff will return for the third and final book discussion of the fall on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. Graff will lead the discussion of Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson.

Refreshments will be served at all sessions. The books will be available at the Berlin Public Library and at the CCSNH-Berlin Fortier Library. For further information, contact Denise Jensen at the Berlin Public Library at 752-5210, or Katie Doherty at the Fortier Library at 752-1113.
