CCSNH-Berlin Culinary Team Prepares for State Competition

The New Hampshire Community College - Berlin will once again be sending a team of future chefs to the state culinary competition. The team, consisting of Matt Beaudin of Concord, Josh Lefebrve of Pittsburg, Kevin Mitchell of Manchester, Jeff Boyea of Berin, and Kurt Johnson of Newport, VT, Have been preparing since last fall to compete against teams from The Balsam's Grand Resort, Southern NH University, and Atlantic Culinary Academy. Each team will be judged on their skill with classical knife cuts and classical preparation techniques, and will also have to prepare a four course gourmet meal within a 90 minute time limit. The Judges will evaluate the food based on flavor and presentation as well as the team's organizational skills and sanitation practices. The state competition will take place at UNH in Durham. The winner of the state competition will go on to a regional competition that will be held in Philadelphia.
