In His Own Words:
I was fortunate enough to graduate from high school the same year that a new technology program was starting at New Hampshire Community Technical College. It didn't take me long to determine NHCTC was the best option for me. The cost and proximity to home were major factors in my decision.
Technology programs require the latest hardware in order to best serve the students. Once enrolled at NHCTC, I was happy to find an environment that had some of the latest technology with which to work and perform tests.
As a kinesthetic learner, I was very comfortable in an environment that was very active and hands-on. Many of the core classes were held in a lab environment performing activities germane to real-world situations.
Upon graduation in 1993, I was hired by a New Hampshire software company that provides management applications to municipalities throughout New England. I was responsible for designing and constructing network architectures on which the company's system software would run.
In the years leading up to my current position, my career remained centered on Information Technology: I helped to start and was a third partner in northern New Hampshire's first Internet Service Provider; I was a network engineer at a company that helped in forming the Internet; and as an engineer at an international network security company, I helped financial / pharmaceutical companies adhere to government information security requirements .
I'm currently working at Raytheon Company in information security management. My principle responsibilities are the design / management of information systems programs and architectures for classified data processing environments.
