Applications for Financial Aid for the 2008-09 Academic Year (summer 2008 through spring 2009) are being processed now!
Renewed Scholarship Opportunities. For more information please see:FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) applications are available to prospective and returning students. If you are planning on attending college this summer/fall/spring, you must file this application located at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. Paper FAFSA forms have been replaced with an on-line FAFSA Worksheet which may be obtained either at the www.FAFSA.ed.gov website or the financial aid office at the College. The on-line FAFSA Worksheet contains the same information as the paper FAFSA yet provides a more detailed explanation about how to properly complete the form. You will need your 2007 Federal tax forms, including W-2 information, and possibly parent tax forms and W-2’s. (If you are under 24 years old, not married, have no children, are not a veteran or ward of the court, you will need parental information.)
To help better understand the entire FAFSA process, you need to know that the information you submit at www.FAFSA.ed.gov goes to a Central Processing System which is an organization that has entered into a contract with the U.S. Dept. of Education to determine the student's eligibility. Once the information that you submit is complete, the outcome will be electronically submitted to the colleges using the school codes you have listed on the FAFSA website
Once you file the FAFSA, we will get an electronic record from the Central Processor. This will load into our database and we will then start to correspond with you. Remember, you must have filed an application and been accepted into a program by the Admissions Office before you can receive financial aid. A follow-up to this information and how proceeds from financial aid are disbursed will be explained during our summer orientation sessions.
The Financial Aid Handbook is available at:Let us know if you have any questions.
